The C.O.B. Project - The Community Oven Building Project
Empowering Communities with Earth, Fire and Food
Community Oven is an outreach program that helps support disadvantaged and marginalized communities. This program offers individuals new ways to perceive themselves, their communities and what is possible. The program focuses on helping people learn new skill sets that will empower themselves in making positive changes in their lives; offering courses on oven building, food education, community organization and small business start up.

“There is immense power when a group of people with similar interests gets together to work toward the same goals.” ― Idowu Koyenikan
With the goal to empower individuals and communities, The C.O.B Project is currently developing a series of outreach programs based around building and using earth ovens. Although none of the project concepts have been completely defined as of yet, the primary focus of the programs will be on skill building and food education courses that explore the impact of proper or lack of nutrition can have on individuals, as well as, communities. The C.O.B. Project would also like to develop a program that assists individuals in starting a small business based around oven building and using wood-fired ovens. While no group will be excluded, some of the target populations that the programs would serve might be: low income families, at risk or underserved youth and adults with developmental disabilities. While these programs could be conducted on location, The C.O.B. Project envisions housing these programs at an established site. If you or if you know anyone that has a location that you think would work, or you would like to become invovled in developing a program, please click connect and together we can explore the possibilities. With the goal of building healthy communities, The C.O.B. Project is currently developing all of the programs to follow Covid 19 Safety Protocols.
